Ripoff, fraudulent billing, ghost guests to beef up income

I attempted to reserve the room on the internet but the system for Holiday Inn would not function so I called the hotel locally in San Antonio. I was making the reservations but they wanted a higher rate. I told them I was trying online and that the rate was much less. They stated that they could match the online rates.' I was NEVER informed of any policies or otherwise that would mean I could not cancel or that any charges would apply.in fact, I did call at a later date and in AMPLE time in advance to cancel the rates. My husband was in the room with me at the time. He will is willing to include a statement verifying that I am telling the truth. I even made comments to my son that I hope he had a place for us because I canceled our reservations. I will try to obtain his statement.

I am requesting that any recordings or tapes of my reservation and the representative actually making the statement of policy be requested.in this case, it may appear that it is their word against mine. I am the customer. I tried to settle this with the hotel amiably, and was given very rude treatment and ignored. It is obvious to me that this is how they make their money, by double billing for staying guests and cancelled guests.

I also noticed on the bill, they charged me on the same date multiple charges indicating multiple charges for one day. AND they charged even more money for what is termed no-show.' I don't believe it is legal in the first place to charge for no service, much less SURCHARGE for no service. I will continue to refuse to pay and the primary reason is that I did cancel this reservation. I mistakenly trusted and misplaced my confirmation number. I can assure you that I will be more attentive to this in the future because it is apparent that there are scams out there everywhere, much to the shame of Holiday Inn and business in America.

I realize that I have no documents, only my word, which countless people will attest, is trustworthy and honorable.
