RIPOF won't accept reservations, won't respond to emails New York

We have tried to book through this travel agency only once and we'll never do it again. Their website www.octopustravel.com doesn't work and will not accept your reservation, but you won't know this until after you have given them your credit card information. It is very difficult to contact them any other way and they do not respond to faxes or emails. That is, you can send them faxes or email, but they do not reply.

Although they sell into Canada, the toll free number on their website (1 866 462 8678) doesn't work from Canada. They know this but don't care. The international phone number, shown below, sometimes works, but usually has a recorded message on it saying they are closed for the US Thanksgiving and they will reopen later in November. We were still getting this message after Christmas.

We attempted to book a vacation and tried to reach them via each of these methods. We did manage to connect by telephone with an agent named Amy who was one of the rudest, impatient and most uncooperative salesperson we've ever encountered. She was unable to complete the reservation but promised to call back. Six hours have passed and we have heard nothing and now cannot reach them. Similarly, a message left for her supervisor Gail Herrara, has resulted in nothing.

We will make other travel arrangements of course, but this is one agency that obviously doesn't care about customer service or helping clients. We'll certainly avoid them and recommend this action to others.
