Both checked bags lost on Guangzhou to Sydney flight

I flew from Guangzhou to Sydney on the 7th Jan by flight CZ301. Both of my checked-in bags are missing and no one has tried to resolve my misery. First the airline cancelled my flight for no apparent reason and then they lose my baggage. Totally unacceptable and very unprofessional. Never ever flying China Southern again! I really would like an update as to where my baggage went? How can the airline not communicate with the customer and leave matters to sort out themselves? I am very annoyed.
