Priceline.com
Missleading Insurance - hotels - name your own price

Traveling & Tourism

I used Priceline.com to book a one night stay in Charlotte, NC. My very first time to use the name your own price. Well, I booked the non refundable room due to the insurance that Priceline advertised. It said in case of sickness or emergency and you could not go it would cover the cost of the booking. Well, one of us got the 24hr stomach bug that likes the bathroom a lot and of course we can not go on the trip. I canceled with the hotel but when I called Priceline, I was informed I needed either a doctor or hospital bill verifying the sickness. That must have been in the small print. I ask if I could just send them some of the crap like they were giving me and that was not enough proof. So this is a Friday night and I am really going to the hospital since no doctor is open. If would cost me more for the proof than the room. What happened to good customer service... GREED! So pass the word, not to name your own price, it will cost you a lot more than you expect. Just go to the hotel website where you can cancel and get your money back. I think the name of the insurance partner is Perkely Care.
