Scammers Scammers Augusta, off Bobby Jones

Just wanted to report my opinion of Gold's Gym off Bobby Jones, Augusta, Ga. The new fitness center was introduced Jan. 2011 and they were advertising the $10/mth no contract special all over the radio, commercials, flyers, etc so me and the hubby went 1/18 to get memberships bc its located nearby. For some reason the little girl (high schooler) who signed me up, put me under a contract paying 19.99/mth. When I found this out (about 3 days later) I went to Gold's and spoke with a rep at the help desk to cancel the contract and get on the no contract membership.

Or so I thought bc today 2/22 ABC financial keeps calling me about how they are trying to extract 39.99 from my account!!! So, after speaking w / the ABC rep, I find out that all along I have been paying for membership svcs, when I have only been to Gold's about 3-4 times (we were not pleased with this location and the center).

So, she tells me to send a letter to cancel the membership! Why can't you send an email? I have seen this rep who works for ABC (who tries to defend her company) email address posted on this site when she replies to comments, so why can't we send email to her to cancel acct? Anyways, they are a disgrace and that little girl who signed me up needs to be fired! Maybe they get commission for contracts, but that was not right AT ALL! Not when money is involved. But here's the catch, when I look at my agreement, why were the dues showing 19.99, so where did she get 39.99 come from??? The agreement has expired so I'm supposedly month to month but I can't cancel w/o a letter?

I am sending the letter off tomorrow and making sure I keep a copy and record all dates and transactions with this company from here on out until this manner is resolved!!! Companies doing scandolous and shady things like this is why I plan to avoid any extra curricular contracts unless you are my utilities!!! I wonder why they want to leave such a bad impression on the customers, when its the customers that bring forth revenue if we are pleased with their services?

Shame on you ABC and I feel Gold's needs to train their employees on how to better assist when applying to their companies svcs. Or hire adults who know better. The little girl never mentioned ANY of this info to me, told me I would be on the no contract $10 and apologized for my inconvenience, she never told me about a letter I need to sign, I would have did that a looong time ago, the lil twat!!
