Get Ripped-off at Bally's

My sister and I signed up at Bally's as some type of "sister bonding" thing to do together. While there, we also signed up our mother who was not with us at the time of signing up.

All the commercials say "Sign up for $16.00 down and $16.00 a month" or "Pay month to month with no contract". Of course this was not available at the specific location we signed up at.

On one page the representative showed me, it said that it would cost $7.00 a month for me and an additional $5.00 each for my sister and mother. That sounded great, even if I had to put $100.00 down. The contracts were written up and he said "Sign here, and initial here". Of course I should have taken time to READ what I was signing. After signing, we were told that we would be very happy at Bally's and with the low payment of only $25.00 each, blah, blah, blah.

I asked why it was now $25.00 each and was told that it was just an initial monthly payment and that after time it would go down. I was confused but also felt dumb asking again what he meant.

So, now my sister has disappeared with no way to find her, my mother does not want to go at all and I am stuck with this damn 3-year contract.

I called to explain what happened, reminding them that out of the three of us that signed on, NONE of us has gone even one time! It is now 2 days before the 30 day "trial" time and I am told that ALL THREE of us need to go a total of TWELVE days within the next TWO days in order to cancel. This is something I was not told when signing up.

My sister is gone, can't find her, can't tell her to try and go and with only TWO days to complete TWELVE, it wouldn't matter anyway. The Customer Service Rep said he would take off the monthly dues for my mother and sister, which I thought was great. I asked, "Okay, how much is the monthly payment for me going to be then?" Ready for this?"68.72 a month!" So I went from $25.00 a month each for THREE people to now $68.72 a month for just one person who isn't going to go anyway!

They already have my $100.00 down payment for NOTHING. Clearly, they can see by their records that none of us has even gone one day and clearly we are not interested and made a mistake signing up under the false membership terms. But the CS Rep said that there is no way "the computer" will let him cancel this out.
