Rip off contract misleading information

I signed up with Bally Total Fitness with my girlfriend on 7/22. We were assured that we can cancelled the account after 30 days because it is a trial membership. The contract that we were tricked into signing was actually something totally different.

It states that in order to cancel the account each of us need to attend the gym 12 times within 1 month. However the sales person only briefly mentioned it. Also, the way the whole packet was organized is not appropriate as well.

The actual content of the contract appears 1 page AFTER the signature line. There is only a minimum amount of information on the page with the signature. The entire content of the contract was skipped when the sales person was showing it to us to sign. We also felt pressured during that time because he was pressing the contract down on the table and pointing to us where to sign, thus eliminating the possibility to see anything on that page, much less the real content which comes AFTER the signature.

Now I cannot cancel it and have a 3 year contract in which I have to pay 71 dollars every month.

We are just full time college students with a ton of government loans on our back. We really cannot afford it. I also noticed that there are tons of complaints regarding Bally's business practice online at usacomplaints.com as well as complaints regarding Bally on this site.

PLEASE do something. It is hurting too many people and it is not ethical at all. We will be left a report on our credit without doing anything bad after Bally sell it to a collection agency. It will give us problems through out my life. Please please please help us!
