Ripoff Will not waranty bikes purchased on clearance Madison

I purchased a bike for my son for Christmas from Wal-Mart. I purchased it brand new. It was an old model that was on clearance.

He rode it about five times. The pedal crank assembly fell out it while he was riding, destoying the bearing holders, and the bearings fell out. The crank assembly on most of the new type bikes have no locking nut or item of any kind I have come to find out. So I am sure it will fall out again after we put it back together.

We had to pay for the parts from the manufacturer (Pacific Cycles). They would not warranty it because I bought it on clearance. It should not not matter what I paid for it. I purchased it new and owned it for less than three months. I have my receipt to prove it. I faxed this to Pacific Cycles.

Beware of clearance bikes made by pacific cycles. I will have to buy my son another bike. I'm sure it is a piece of garbage or the company would not find ways to get out of the warranty. The money is not an issue. I was totally prepared to pay full price when I went shopping but who passes on a deal.

They tried to tell me it had to be a used return. It may have been returned, but there is no way it was used.
