Overcharge purchase

Shops, Products, Services

I placed an order for high school class ring over the phone with one of Jostens sale representative, I asked to upgrade my ring to 14k gold from my original order was 10k gold. I was charged for the amount of 14k gold but when I got the ring it was 10k gold all along. The sale representative charged me extra for 14k gold but never update my original order on the system.

I didn't verified the ring at the time. A couple of years later, I realized it was a 10k gold and tried to contact Jostens about it. They claimed it was my fault that I didn't check for my ring if it was actual 14k gold, they said they don't keep track of how the order was placed, in other word, they don't know I ordered it over the phone, email, or through my school. They don't keep track of pricing of their rings in the past. I could have overpaid/underpaid for my ring and they wouldn't know about it.

They made excuse by saying mistakes happened so it was part of the customer's responsibility to make sure that they did thing right the first time. Since they no longer have any of specific record about the pricing of my order. They couldn't do anything for me, so in the end I was overcharged for the ring I got because someone on their end mess up my order (mostly likely the sale rep.) somehow I am the one who is at fault.
