Favorite & Fabulous Ripoff Scam

Unfortunately we too fell for this publishing scam. It sounded so legitimate and the representative, Heather, was a real nice gal. We received a call from Heather and she said we had been chosed to be featured in the next best sellingcoffee table book "Favorite & Fabulous." Since we are a small mom & pop donut shop, it sounded like a great opportunity for advertising our business.

I asked Heather several times what the cost was going to be and each time she said there was no charge. However, by the end of the interview, she managed to collect $388 from us on our charge card. I used the credit card thinking it was safer and I would have a chance to investigate the company and then dispute the charges with my credit card company. I checked the publishers on line and everything looked legitimate to me at the time. Now it's been almost a year since signing the agreement and too late to dispute with the credit company.

When the book was published, we were supposed to receive a case of the books to sell in our donut shop. The $388 was for the books but I was told we would make more than that on the books, plus they "guaranteed full refund 1 year after delivery on any remaining books."

I just happened to stumble upon another persons report on the Ripof Report site and felt we should also file a report to get the word out to all businesses, big and small. It's a lesson learned for us and hopefully we can spare others from this scam.
