Watches ripoff warranty, defective product Peoria Illinois

These guys are a real piece of work. Had the watch for a couple of years (my second one) and one day it just dies. So I send it back to Luminox service with the $10.00 fee they charge, and over a month later I get a notice from them that water had leaked into it (waterproff to 100m) and rusted the parts.
Assuming that it was still under warranty, oh no they said I must have done something to it. God forbid that there product be defective. But they gladly offered to fix it for close to $100.00.
Someone please tell me where has good old customer service ethics gone. Luminox "bites" don't count on them if something is wrong with your watch.
