Seiko - Coserv
Coserv Not honoring warranty

Electronics and household app.

SEIKO Coserv successfully denied any responsibility for defective Seiko watch, essentially called me a liar, and made me pay for repair.

Got a new watch from wife for Christmas, identical to one I've been wearing for 10 years. While resetting for Daylight Saving Time, the stem completely pulled out of watch housing, rendering watch unusable. Sent it in to SEIKO COSERV for warranty service. They sent back bill for replacing the parts.

Called COSERV, based on other's success in RIP OFFs.com, but got nowhere. I was told that they do not cover that stem/crown because...

Even though I am now wearing the 10 year old watch and reset it twice in last two weeks due to time zone changes, they still told me it was not a manufacturing defect but that I must have caused the damage. I have reset my old watch 50 - 100 times over last ten years, and other watches at least 1,000 times in my life time, and this is the only time this has happened. Yet it must have been my fault because that is their policy.

The only good news is that the cost to repair was only $14.50, but it still galls me that I have to pay to repair a defective watch that is still under warranty.
