Verizon Wireless, too many dropped calls

My phone was fully charged. But my phone was always turned off after few minutes of use. I even purchased a new battery although it didn't fix the problem. So I am afraid to call someone, because it will be disconnected after few minutes. Here's the play-by-play. (1) Charge the phone, wait till its done, place the call. (2) Few minutes later, the phone beeps saying low battery and shuts off. (3) Anyway I turn the phone on, and I see the phone keep working for all day as long as I don't place the call. (4) But when I place the call, the phone is turned off after few minutes of use.
