Cruel and unwarrented service at The Sox Outlet in OakForest

Yesterday I went to The Sox Outlet in Oakhurst, Illinois. It is located on 159th Street, just East of Oak Park Ave. I was there to exchange a jacket that my husband had been given for Christmas. I walked into the store and told the clerk I needed to get a jacket with an elastic waist. She told me to hold on and she came back with who I assumed was the manager. That woman then told the clerk to bring up another jacket. She did so and then proceeded to insult me.

She told me that my jacket looked like it had been used and that she was sick of people like me coming in and trying to do things like this. I told her that I did not understand her attitude as I had not even opened my mouth. I did not argue with her and would have accepted the refusal on her return, but she proceeded to get worse. She then told me that I should get the hell out of her store. I again told her I did not know where this was coming from. I am not a confrontational person. She then told me to get the hell out of the store again and I told her that I did not appreciate her treating me that way. I asked for her name. She refused to give it to me. I told her that the reason she would not give me her name was that she knew that she had mistreated me. She then told me her name was Marianne, and that I need to get the hell out of her store and she would hold the door open for me.

The reason I am so upset by this is because I was humiliated. I would never try to return or exchange something that I thought was damaged. The jacket was clearly brand new as I had the receipt and all of the tags were never removed from the jacket. If she had told me that she would not do the exchange for whatever reason in a pleasant matter I would not be so upset.instead she had to insult me and yell ate me in a completely unprovoked manner. I want something done about this and I do not know what rights I have.
