Asked to leave with invalid reason

I wanted to launch a complaint on behalf of my fiance. Two days ago he went to safeway store to do something on his laptop and spent an overnight in the starbuck in safeway. He was asked to leave by the store manager and Associate manager on the basis of claiming it does not "look" good for the store. He buys something everyday from there and that is how he was treated.
He was asked to leave on an invalid reason. The other branch of the same store did not mind him staying there overnight because it's okay in their policy as long as he doesnt sleep but for the other branch on mission it was deal. How can there be different policies for the same store but two different branches? Im very frustrated and i would like this to be heard.
