Safeway
Safeway had only one cashier and 10 people in line

Miscellaneous

At approximately 10:12 pmon 10/7, I entered the Safeway grocery store on Swann Creek Road in Fort Washington, Md. There were several people in the store. There was only one line opened. I stayed in line approximately 15 minutes with about 10 people in front of me. When it came to my turn, I asked to speak to the manager. I asked her why another line was not opened. She told me that it was c ompany policy not to open but one line after 10pm due to the lack of revenue at the store.

I asked her if she was qualified to operate the cash register. She told me she was but she was not aware of the line because she was in the back preparing a drop. However, when she was called at my request, she came right out. I think that her managerial skills are lacking or she does not have systems in place. Any cashier should be told that if the line is extemely long, they should request assistance. This is basic when it comes to customer service.
