A few weeks ago, I hired them for a quick 1 bedroom apartment move. Total distance was 5-6 miles. I had everything packed and stacked in the livingroom when they arrived at 8:15. Aside from the driver sitting on my coffee table to take a break things were going pretty well.

We were completely loaded by 10:30. At 10:45 the driver turns into a gas station for a soda.instead of using the outer aisle, he wedged the truck under the canopy. The whole truck not just the front. They had to let the air out of the tires and try to ease the truck out. The driver admitted that he was inexperience, he had only worked for Staving Student for one week and it was the second time he had driven a truck.

Well, he panics and hits the accelerator too hard, spinning the tire off of the rim.

To shorten a long story, I will tell you that we had to sit at the gas station for 5 hours waiting for repairs. Goodyear only made the repair after they were assured payment.

We were only a. 5 mile from my new place. It took us 45 minutes to unload the truck. It was at this time when the dispatcher gives me some crazy price. After some negotiation, he and I agree that I will only pay $125. He has the driver annotate my bill and give me a copy. I paid them and left it alone.

Today, I open my mail and find a collection notice for $190.

Fortunatly, I have my copy of the receipt and pictures of the disabled truck.

I just wrote Starving Students this morning with the whole string of events. I will post their response when I receive it.
