We asked Windy City Skylights to examine our skylights and give us a quote to replace the electric shades. The Salesman didn't go on to roof as we had asked and we were quoted $910 for 2 shades and $6400 to replace both skylight units and shades.

Only after replacing the shades did the tech go on the roof and discovered the flashing needed to be replaced. We received a quote for $1228 for the flashing. Because of the misquote of $6400, we decided to replace the shades. Now we're at $910 $1228 = $2138.

We asked the General Manager to quote on 2 new skylights, flashing, shades and the installed quote was $3448. Knowing this, we certainly would have replaced the entire skylights and shades for an additional $1062 rather than spending $2130 on 18 year old skylights.

My concern is that every employee, including the President, quoted us a different price. The original salesman admittedly made a mistake when quoting $6400 and is no longer employed by Windy City Skylights. The manager quoted $1228 for flashing, the President quoted $2500. The general manager quotes $3248 for brand new skylights and shades and the President quote $6400 to $7000.

After making every attempt to resolve this issue and Windy City Skylight's poor and unacceptable solutions, we feel we got ripped off. We have written quotes and emails to backup every statement in this complaint
