On the way home from worked I stopped by Cooper's grocery store to pick up a few things. I got the "managers special" in the meat Department identified by a bright orange sticker.
When I got home I noticed a label covering the original price and sell by date. I gently peeled it off to see how much it was before it went on sale. I was surprised to see that the sell by date was changed as well as the price. The dates between the two were off by a full week. I called and asked to speak to the Manager in the meat dept. I told him the situation and he only said to bring it back to the store and he will give me a refund. Is this common practice? It cannot be legal. At least rewrap the roast and not just slap on a new label. I ended up not taking it back and just threw it out. Some Manager's special.
