Job: Refinish partially unfinished basement. Add a mid-wall design. Add can lights to the ceiling. Deal was for a "deluxe" refinishing.

This contractor came to my home claiming he was an excellent worker, that he would get here early, work late, and even work weekends in order to get the job done. He game me a labor only cost of 3200 for just himself at the time. The deal was for me to pay for my own materials which came out to be over 1600. So I was looking at a bottom price of 4800, but with the hopes that it would pay off for me.

At first things started out OK and the contractor was even adding in-wall speakers complementory. Buyer beware. When a contractor say he is doing something "free". If you get this one you will end up in an awkward position where the contractor is claiming he is going to have to come up with new prices for existing work.
