Ripoff FALSE ADVERTISEMENT charged roaming when told there would be no roaming fees

My husband and I signed with Cingular when living in Connecticut. We were transferred with my husband's job to Colorado in February. Cingular isn't located in this area, our phones rarely work. We are still under contract, therefore we cannot cancel. When talking to Cingular, they stated it wasn't their fault we moved and we still have to pay even though they cannot offer us service.

We then downgraded our minutes to the lowest program. (Of course they charged us a fee for doing this) They also promised that we would never be charged a roaming fee anywhere in the country. Cingular also is running a national television commerical advertising that there is no roaming in the United States. Well, IT'S FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! I received my last bill, and although I couldn't use my phone very much, the few times it worked, I was charged roaming for every single call. And I had not gone over my minutes since I had over over 1,000 roll over minutes.

Since Cingular isn't located in the Colorado area, then all cell calls have to use another company's tower. That charged is passed on to the consumer as a roaming charge. Cingular is falsly advertising the service you'll receive. The FCC or FTC needs to do something about Cingular.
