Account Cancelled but Reported to Credit and Collector Sends Only Letters

I am filing this report due to the fact of dissatisfaction with Verizon wireless. I got the account and I had to let it cancel out. Now they are marking up my credit report and have sent it to Allied Interstate. Well the wired part is that Allied Interstate is not doing anything to collect the debt but send me letters. I would think they would call? While Verizon has my name in collections they also call me periodically. I hate it!!!
