Soooo deceptive in tricking you into signing a 2-year contract. Do not sign your credit card slip until you read it. They tack the two-year contract on there, but do not disclose it

Shops, Products, Services

I've been a Verizon customer for many years, but have finally had it. When you purchase from them, how is it legal for them to slide your credit card purchase slip over for your signature, without disclosing that you just re-upped for two years!!!???

I purchased a cell phone for my step-son. Told the clerk I did not want to sign a 2-year contract since he was moving away in about a month. I told the clerk I'd rather pay full price for a phone than to be tied to another contract. After spending a huge amount of time while the clerk showed me phones that were supposedly on sale, I made my phone purchase, signed my "credit card charge slip" and left the store. A month later, after my stepson moved away, I called to cancel his line since he was going to pick up service under his name in another state. Well, I was told, " you signed a two-year contract". I was livid. I explained to three different peopel that I was duped. I paid for that phone in order to not have a contract. I was then told that I didn't pay enough for that phone without signing a contract, but would be willing to waive the contract if I paid the REAL retail price for the phone - an additional $160 bucks.

A few days later, I find that my stepson has a new phone number with Verizon in another state, and under another two-year contract! When asked how one cell phone could have two different numbers and two different 2-year contracts, I was told that my stepson probably chiseled off the serial number and put a fake number on the phone. Who knows how to the that!!!??? Well, in digging, I found that the store clerk in his new state went into my account illegally and obtained a serial number from an old cell phone I used to have, and used that to activate his same phone under a new 2-year contract. Unbelievable. DOES EVERYONE KNOW THAT THESE CLERKS RECEIVE COMMISSION FOR EACH NEW 2-YEAR CONTRACT THEY SIGN UP?

Well, it didn't take much for a supervisor to waive my early termination fee for the contract I didn't even know I signed, and alerted the store supervisor that he had a nasty clerk in his store.

EVERYONE, let's get together and file a class-action suit against Verizon. I'm contacting attorneys now.
