Charter communications must be run by retarded fifth graders.

Over the past several years, I have had nothing but trouble from them

First, I got their WebTV-type service, Worldgate. It was TERRIBLY slow, froze and crashed all the time (usually in the middle of important emails) and was often unavailable (wouldn't connect). I had my own private tech support guy—that's how many problems I had with this junk. I had teams of service people to my house numerous times but nothing helped, so I cancelled the service.

Second, I have cable TV with Charter. My remote is a piece of junk that keeps breaking. They "bundle" channels together and then jack up the price—I cannot get my kids' channels without paying for some stupid movie channel I DON'T want as well! The picture often freezes, breaks into pieces, shakes, and has to "reset" itself a few minutes later. I pay 60 bucks a month for TV alone, and it's cruddy.

Third, they offer on TV this "Video On Demand" thing, where you can get movies and TV shows and watch them like tapes—rewind, fast forward, etc. For the past 2 MONTHS every time I try to get a movie or show it wont come on and says "communications time out". Either that or it freezes in the middle of playing and wont restart from the point that it stopped at. As a result we've seen a lot of movies halfway or partway through—but we don't get to see the ends. I've called about this NUMEROUS times and they keep telling me "Ok, I made a note of your complaint, we're having trouble with this service". They have NO idea when it'll be fixed, they have been "working on it" for 2 months!

Forth, I have internet service with them. IT STINKS! My modem quits on me at least twice a day and I have to "power cycle" it—only to have it quit again 15 minutes later! When it does run it's terribly slow even though they promise super fast speed. Ha! Many times I try to get on the net and it wont connect at all. This I pay 40 bucks a month for! I've called "tech support" several times and they know NOTHING!!! They tell me to power cycle the modem which I've done over & over. Once I called and the guy had to read a Macintosh manual while on the phone with me! I thought a "tech support" employee would know more than just Windows operating systems, but I was wrong. They are SO DUMB! And rude to boot! They say "ok I'll make a note of it" but nothing ever gets fixed! They check it from their end or even come out to my house and check everything and say "ok, everything looks fine, we don't know what the problem is"—they cannot figure it out!

It's terrible to pay over 100$ a month for this garbage. I'm going to drop them for a different company, as soon as I find out which one I should switch to. Boo charter!!
