Mortgagle Loan Modification Fraud

Following a divorce, I was left to maintain a home that was too large and too expensive for me to handle. The home had been for sale through a legitimate listing agency for over a year. Due to the divorce and personal financial struggle, I wanted my mortgage company to modify my loan to help me keep it on the market longer -with hopes of selling.

However, my mortgage company was unwilling to work with me. So, I offered my home on an internet site (and others) as a lease-purchease option. Apparently, the people at Summit search these sites for potential clients (or suckers.) I was contacted by Summit Legal who offered to help. They indicated that the large mortgage companies often pushed around the "individual" but Summit was a Legal group that speciallized in helping individuals negotiate with the large mortgage companies. All manner of promises, how easy and fast it would be, on and on. I bought into it and agreed to allow them to help.

There is a $2,500 "retainer" that I paid for their legal services. Later I paid over $500 for a "forensic audit" of my mortgage to determine if there was any misconduct by the mortgage company. Over $3,000 paid in the hopes of getting my loan re-financed or modified to allow me to sell. This was all in December of and January. Ultimately, Summit Legal did nothing. Several phone calls, faxes of documents, and emails, all resulted in absolutely nothing.in June my mortgage company foreclosed on my home. I have not heard one word from Summit Legal. After 7 months of caling, emailing, and desperately trying to save and sell my home, I lost it. And $3,000 to the crooks at Summit Legal as well.

Summit Legal talks a great game. But they have a "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau (it was a "B" when I started working with them) and have a great number of complaints against them.
They are a total fraud. Worthless and ineffective. No one, ever, should make the mistake of trusting your largest financial commitment to these incompitent thieves.
