Employees Offered Side Work, Leaking Toilet Repair Never Fixed

I asked one of the Home Depot employees about getting work done around my home. She advised me that her boyfriend and another friend who work there were looking for side work, and that not only would I save money, but the work would be the same as if I went through Home Depot.

They came and did the work, and the following week one of the toilets they fixed leaked in exactly the place where they claimed to have fixed it. I have requested on several occasions that these individuals return and fix the problem. They constantly say, "We will contact you shortly and repair the work." I never hear from them.

The problem I am having is that I cannot get anyone at Home Depot to tell me what their company policy is regarding employees soliciting business when consumers are in their store.

They keep asking me for the names of the employees. I humbly explain to them that I am not going to report them because I do not want to get them in trouble, and that if I know they would be reprimanded for their actions, I could use this to make certain they repair what they have promised to repair.
