The envelope and letter look superficially like official correspondence from the State of Colorado. If you read all the fine print, it is clear that is not the case. The letter requests an annual fee of 250.00 to be sent by check to a P.O. Box in Denver. No street address, phone number or e-mail address is given.
The $250.00 fee is far in excess of the filing fee with the state. The letter does not make it clear what is the service being offered. It is written to appear to the casual reader as a bill from the State of Colorado.
