T-Mobile Does not refund deposit automatically, contradiction between website and service agreement

I have recently canceled my T-Mobile account for many reasons. What pushed me over the edge though was an experience I had with my deposit. According to T-Mobile's main website (and the agreement I understood when I joined): You get your deposit back automatically, and do not need to call in to get it.

According to the support agreement though (which I only found out after several months of not receiving my deposit back), you have to actually call in to get your deposit back and they will otherwise not refund it! The person I called at the customer support center said as much as well!
