Ripoff employee time and customer money

Cato has a common practice of requiring employees to "volunteer" to work off the clock. If you say no your job is threatened. No job is too big or small, it will be completed on time, or else.
Managers are treated the worst. They are threatened verbally with write-ups, suspensions, and firing if subordinates don't do their job. Vacation time is inconvenient and requests for time off are put off for sometimes a whole year. Time not taken is not paid at the end of your year. Sick time is not allowed. During my employment, all of us were required to report to work no matter how sick. We were told if we didn't show up, we didn't need to come back.
During no-tax weekend, customers were entitled to have tax removed from layaways picked up during this time, and we were told not to tell the customer, because it was too much trouble.
If an employee is unhappy, a raise and/or promotion is promised, and never happens. We were also threatened that if we didn't make our sales day, we would have to work extra shifts. We were told on Sundays we could not close the store until the day was made.
