AT&T Wireless ripoff by means of misrepresentation, and intentionally leaving things out

I have had Sun Com as my cellular service for about 2 years. I have never had a problem with them, my minutes never went over and my bills were always paid on time. Until...

My husband and I were planning to move to WV and need a cell phone so that we could talk back and forth while he was in NC and I was in WV getting things settled. On September 8th I was on the internet and found a plan that Sun Com had a plan of 4000 minutes, consisting of 500 anytime minutes and 3500 nights and weekends. Since we would be talking mostly nights and weekends this was the way to go. Wrong...

I received my first bill in October We hadn't been using the phone at the time because I didn't leave until Oct. 1 so that bill was fine.

The week before Thanksgiving I received a bill for $700.00, I called and told them there must be some mistake because the bill was way too high for using the nights and weekends minutes. They then informed me that if my phone said partner it was roaming off of another tower, while it was being used in my home. Our previous cell phone did not roam while in our home. The lady on the phone said she would check into it and call me back. Needless to say no one ever called me back. After Thanksgiving I called back and she said that the charges were correct and that I owed the bill.

I still have a copy of the original ad that I printed off the internet and it states as long as you are in the Sun Com States there was no roaming or long distance charges. The whole state of NC is on their map of states. I received my bill for December and the bill was now up to $900.00.

I called back in and talked to yet another Sun Com representative who then informed me that when my phone said partner those minutes were taken off of my 500 anytime minutes.

They shut the cell phone off so now my husband and I have no way to communicate over the miles. I called on January 17 to tell them to go ahead and cancel my service and to charge the early termination fee to my bill and I would make payment arrangements so they do not mess up our credit. Guess what, because I have an out standing bill they cannot do that so they will be charging e $40.00 a month every month for a phone I can't even use.

We are going to try to buy a house when he moves up here with me and they are going to ruin our credit because they do not divulge the information that the customer should know before getting a phone with them. My husband and I have worked very hard to get the good credit that we have and now it may all go down the drain because Sun Com and AT&T Wireless are deceitful.
