This free money book on tv for 19.95, I thought I would give it a try. After saying no to everything else almost an hour I gave in and signed up for 2 trial memberships.
I was wooed by receiving 100.00 free gas card and 50.00 dinning card just for trying these memberships and could cancel at any time and keep the gas and dinnings cards.
I was under the impression that everything would arive in the package that cost an extra 23.90 to ship.
To my suprise when the order came in only a couple of books and nothing else. I looked up the phone numbers I was provided from the intial order and called to find out where everthing else was, mainly the cards I was to be getting.
I talked to someone who didn't have a clue of what I was talking about and gave a nother number to call, so I called it and the man listened to what I was saying then he said "that comes in different package, I'll make sure it gets right out to you."
I thought ok let's see. A week or so later this package arives. No cards just information on my trial memberships, also in the package is a web site to go into to collect your gift cards.
I go into the web site and yes there is free cards in there but over a period of time in the membership can you collect them 10.00 a month. I call the number back and cancel everything to do with this book, over and done with right?
Wrong, after the cancelations money starts going out of my back account, not much just 1.00 2 times for canceled memberships. I called these memberships to queston why.
One owned up and refunded that money back into my account. The other called it sevice fee and kept it, no big deal only 1.00 as long it doesn't happen again.
Since I ordered that book I'm getting unauthorized phone calls from companies I never even heard of wanting me to try this and do this and do that and you will get all kinds of money. I asked them how did you get this number? They never tell me.
They just keep on and on with their sales pitch, then I tell I'm not interested and for them to remove my number from their call list. Most of them get snippy with me saying " guess you want to stay poor, and how can you not want free gov. Grants.
Yesterday in checking my account 14.95 has been charged to me by Kevin trudeau's news letter. So I get the phone number off my bank statement and call them.
I told them that I canceled everything to do with that book. They said no you didn't cancel, you have to cancel with this number not the one you called. I stated that this number wasn't in any of the paper work that I have, I got this off my bank statement.
I said consider this my cancel call, refund my account. They of course said no, you didn't cancel in time for this issue of the news letter we can't issue you a refund.
I said give a conformation # for my cancelation so you do not take any more un-athorized funds out of my account. She said we don't give out conformation numbers for cancelations.
I sent them an e-mail notice of my cancelation a long with how bad they are doing (scamming) people and they sent me back an e-mail extending my trial membership for another 30 days. Does that just beat all?
I had to send them back another e-mail to cancel the newsletter again. 3 times canceled and they don't ever give up.
I'm not into this for that much money YET, but who knows they may not stop and I'll have to cancel my long time bank account and start a new one as well as change my long time phone #.
I only hope people read this and stay away from these scammers. 1.00 here 14.95 there is not to much of a hit, but times that by 100,1000, 10,000, 100,000, well you get the picture, adds up. And these people are making millions doing people like this.
Someone needs to take these people down.
