Buyer beware... Do not purchase guardsman service - denied claim

Purchased furniture from Havertys and was advised to purchase Guardsman Service Protection Plan for upholstered furniture all accidental stains and damages would be covered for 5 years. Stay worry free and protect furniture was pitched.

After 1 year got spot on upholstered ottoman. Filed claim with Guardsman. Claim was denied because I mistakenly put wrong date on form that I signed and stated I did not know exactly what stain was. Because I was honest claim was denied. This is a rip off.

I understand following rules. However honest mistake and Guardsman will not consider that. Do not purchase guardsman coverage for your purchases. If you do, get a lawyer to help you complete mail in service request form. If you make a mistake... Too bad... Denied.
