Beware! DirecTV charges rediculous fees when you change providers!

I made the mistake of believing what the DirecTV salesperson told me. He said that the amount per month he quoted would not change unless I upgraded service (not true) and he said if I wasn't happy, I could quit at any time (also not true). Further, he said that the terms of my agreement was for one-year (again not true).

The reality is that DirecTV will increase the rate I paid by over $25 per month in the second year. The reality is, that if I don't like that increase, I have to pay nearly $250 to get rid of DirecTV. The reality is that it was a TWO year commitment, not a one-year commitment.

Their ads sound wonderful, but almost everything on DirecTV involves an additional cost. Almost all movies involve a cost, no matter how old the movie might be. Many other programs also involve a cost, too. Want HD? I did, and yep, that costs extra. Want a DVR? I did, yep that costs extra too.

Everything I've said here is FACT.including this: if I had it to do over, I'd forget DirecTV's fancy claims of "low cost" and go with cable. It's less expensive, and there now $250 rip off if you don't like the service.
