Devastated, Dazed, and Disappointed

I paid a $1500 retainer to Brian Ramey to handle my divorce case. Mr. Ramey initially presented himself to me as a professional who was genuinely concerned about handling my case. As time went on, Mr. Ramey's true colors were revealed. Mr. Ramey went on and on about his own personal problems during our meetings and phone conversations, in the midst of my pain and turmoil due to the difficult issues surrounding my divorce. Mr. Ramey was also extremely rude and callous. When I confronted him about his rudeness, he replied that he has been told that several times in the past. My question to him is why be a divorce attorney to represent people when they are at their lowest emotionally, finanically, and sometimes physically. His horrible attitude only brought more stress into my life at such a difficult time and I requested that he withdraw as my attorney. Mr. Ramey never refunded any of my $1500 retainer and when I aksed him for a partial refund considering what little he had done my case, he replied that all of the e-mails between us were worth the $1500 and then some. I beg to differ and I asked him of he has also charged me for all of the time that he discussed his personal problems during our meetings.

The bottom line is that I am out of $1500 and had additional stress added to my life as a result of hiring Mr. Ramey to respresent me.
