H&R Block/TAXCUT
MY 2008 Federal reture: Failed to enter Social Security income, although that information was provided. Refuses to honor advertised guarantee

Filed 2008 federal return, using H&R Block "At Home" (formerly Tax Cut). Being unfamiliar with the program, I had an experienced user at my side.in section for Social Security income, I made enteries for myself and my wife. Those figures DID NOT appear on final report, as received by IRS.

Two months ago, IRS contacted me about undeclared income.in addition to the actual tax, I owed a total of $174.49, for penalties, interest and late charges. When contacted, H&R Block disavowed any error on their part. At one point it was even suggested, that I use the 2008 disc, and "recreate" my return; to see it it comes out the same. Of course, I refused. After multiple phone calls, fax and letters toBlock CEO, I have received no satisfaction. Block's only answer is, "We did not make any math errors".

I can not be compensated for the frustration, nor for the interest on over $800, that I had to borrow, in order to pay IRS. However, as I read Block advertising; they pay all penalties, interst and related charges.
