I feel really stupid, two "reputable" organizations, or so they claimed, have got me. I have been a homeowner for nearly 14 years. I came across the American Homeowners Association site.
I read it, studied it, liked the benefits and felt safe since it offered a "trial membership".
I called and cancelled my membership, due to a recent scam by another company. The lady was very understanding. She assured me I was cancelled and I would receive my refund.
I cancelled on 09/26/03. She said it would take 3-5 business days. I had no reason to doubt or suspect they were dishonest in anyway. They had been very polite, respectful, no hassels.
Well I was on this website and what should I see, but AHA listed among the Rip-Off clients. The age of technology has become a double edged sword. You can't trust anyone on the internet.
Go to there website, see how convicing they were. I can only pray I'll get my refund, but I have a sick feeling it's not to be. How do these people live with themselves on these sites?
