Driver passed without stopping, then marked me as not home

My complaint, I am sure, is small bananas compared to others, but I have to vent. I ordered a large package which I could not purchase locally because I have no way of hauling it. I took the day off of work today to ensure that I would not miss delivery. I heard a vehicle coming up the road, looked out the window, and watched the delivery driver drive up my road, turn around in the circle, and drive right past me, with no stopping. I called customer service, concerned that this may have been the driver with my package, and the agent said not to worry, it should arrive shortly. I checked the tracking online multiple times and ended up seeing that the driver said I was not home. So I called back.
The customer service agent was polite and did everything she could. She ended up transferring me to the local office, where I spoke with another woman who said she knows the driver and he is not that kind of person. So I guess that makes me a liar. Apparently the driver called in saying that he stopped and has a door tag number and cannot come back. A door tag number says nothing about the driver's activity, only that he scanned a piece of paper. basically I paid FedEx to deliver a package to me, I lost an entire day's pay (and wasted hours watching for him), and I ended up just frustrated and upset.
