Cancellation Policy

We have two cellular phones with Cellular One. We have had service with them for over five years. Because my husband travels, we needed a nationwide plan. Cellular One has a limited nationwide plan. Cingular Wireless had a better plan. When I tried to cancel service for my husband's cellular phone, they told me it would require a 30 day written notice. We are out of contract. I pointed that out to the representative and he told me it didn't matter that we are no longer obligated to them, they still have to have the 30 day notice. What this essentially means is that they are charging people an extra month's charges when they cancel service.

We are not the only ones to which this has happened. They did the same thing to our friend. It will cost us for one month $75.25 and our friend around $60.00.
