Zales Jewelry Store
Broke watch nothing but a bunch of BULL

I went into a neighboring Zales store to have a battery replaced. I had purchased an expensive battery that wasn't suppose to go bad on me while I owned the watch, but if it did all I had to do is bring it in to any Zales store and they would replace the battery for free.

So, I went in and while the lady was replacing my battery she broke it. She turned to me and told me and my mother who was standing beside me that she broke my watch and that in the 20 years she had worked there, this had never happened before. So, she said that they had a guy in town that worked on watches and if he couldn't fix it and it had to be sent away, they would just replace it with a new one. So, we found out that he couldn't fix it and they refused to give me a new one like she said she would.

I spoke with the manager and he was very errogant and hateful. It did not matter what his employee of 20 years said to me. I can't imagine that they would not keep their word. She (the employee that broke my watch) said all they would have to do is get my info as far as my address and when I bought my watch from Zales. I think they found out that I didn't buy it there - I bought it at another Zales in another location. He (the manager) said they would send it off to be fixed at their expense, but it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it back.

I was told that they would not put me through that, that they would just replace the watch with a new one. I can't believe an employee of 20 years doesn't know what the store policies are. I believe she did know their policies but the manager found out I didn't buy it at their store, so he is refusing to keep her word to me. They still have my watch at this time.

The store employee's name was Sharon. Her associate # is 0063. She put on my claim check that the repair return date was 10 days later after I went in there, not 6 to 8 weeks.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
