AT&T Deceptive Trade Practice

My son is incarcerated at Potter County Detention Center in Amarillo Texas and they use Global Tel Link so I can communicate with him. The company's recording tells you that you will be charged standard AT&T rates and you may only use a credit card to receive calls. When you give them your credit card info you can choose $25 or $50 amounts, but they fail to tell you that there is a service charge of 19% plus they also fail to tell you that regardless of whether you have a 1 minute call or 15 minute call you pay a flat fee of $4.10 plus the state tax which in Texas is 50 cents so I pay $4.60 to talk. I went to the web site to find this information, but there is nothing to tell you their charges in advance. I was double billed on December 16 adding funds by phone and after making a call to the customer service the lady told me I would receive a refund in 7 to 10 days. It's hard enough to have a child or other family member incarcerated, however ripping your head off just to speak with them is a crime in itself. I will be writing to my representatives concerning this and I will join a class action suit against this company and AT&T in order to get a resolution to this problem. This is deceptive trade practices if there ever was. The web site has nothing to tell you what their charges are up front and the recording is a flat out lie when your loved one calls.
