De-humanizing and bigoted slumlord rents trash for cash

My pregnant wife and I moved from California to Arkansas, renting a hotel while searching for homes or apartments to rent. This guy (Brian Fitzgerald) is someone we discovered through listings from a company called Rent-Max, and we scheduled a meeting with him to look at his property. Well, after traveling by bus to meet him, he gave us a hard time by questioning us about our backgrounds and income, and then he shows us three of four properties he owns.

Well, it turns out that each apartment was filled with dust, cobwebs, dead roaches, live roaches, filthy refrigerators, scum-filled carpets stained with filth, mildew and mold everywhere, rusty tubs, water-eroded walls made of rotting wood, and a whole lot more horrible things. These places were so bad that he would not step foot in them while we entered to look at the homes. He also lied and said that he rented these places out recently, yet it appears that no one has lived in these homes for 5 to 10 years. Not only that, but we did tell him that my wife is pregnant, yet she was exposed to mildew and mold during our inspection of the homes he was apparently afraid to enter.

I questioned him about the condition of these places, and he knew nothing (or very little) about what occurred in the homes, which meant that he never entered them, but rather let these properties rot and decay and deteriorate over a long period of time without any effort to renovate. How he expected us or anyone for that matter to live in such inhumane conditions is beyond my understanding.

I warn anyone who would ever encounter this person to be ware and do not fill out paper work or agree to rent any property from him. His homes should be condemned and demolished. And he should be arrested and fined for attentpting to rent such place to people, especially through the use of a rental-listing company such as Rent-Max.

My impression of him (as evident by his web page) is that he is an extremely wealthy man who is too lazy to keep with his property maintenance. However, he has enough money to drive around in a luxurious gas-guzzling pickup truck and travel to Africa for safari game-hunting, yet he was willing to rent out these disgusting places to us for 325 a month plus 100 deposit without cleaning up the places.

Also, my wife and I got headaches from so much mildew/mold exposure, and found that dealing with this guy was a complete waste of time and transportation money. He has a house phone and cell phone number
