Quoted $17.50 by Phone, Then Charged $48.00 for Shipping

On 8/13/09, I called the UPS Store in Troy, MO and spoke with Pam. I asked for the shipping cost on an item and gave her its exact dimensions. She quoted a rate of $17.50, not including their charge to package it, which would be additional. That was not a problem. After I drove 15 miles to the location, Pam changed her mind on the charges. They would now be $48.00 plus their charge for packing the item. If this store is not a rip-off, I don't know what is!
