In august of I entered into an agreement with Doug Hart of Hart Aero for the purchase of an Ultralight aircraft known as a Light Flyer. A purchase agreement was presented to me by Doug, which i signed and returned to him. I kept a copy for myself.

The agreement was for me to make payments over the course of one year, which would amount to the full purchase price of the plane, including the shipping to my home address.

During this period of time, I found Doug to be very helpful and informative. I was exited when he said mine was to be the first red biplane that he was building. I had no reason to think he was a fraud. I had checked with the area BBB near his home. They told me that although he was not registered with them, the woman i spoke to said she went past his place on her way to work daily, so it did exist.

I made the payments as agreed to, even paying the plane off in full 2 months earlier than planned. Pretty cool right? WRONG. After this time, suddenly, you could not talk to Doug Hart any more. Even trying to get an update on the build progress was impossible. He simply would not return a phone call. Ever. He would not respond to an e-mail. Ever. I simply got the same answering machine message every time.

The purchase agreement stated that after 30 days from the date of the final payment, the plane would be made available to ship. I realize that i paid the plane off 2 months early, so a small delay was expected.

The final payment on this airplane was made on 6-19-08. That is correct. Over a YEAR has passed, and still I have nothing to show for over 5,000 dollars. I still cant get him to return a call. Or e-mail. I still listen to that same answering machine message at least twice a week. I have filed and won judgement on a civil suit in PA., but it has no apparent effect in MO., except to lighten my wallet for lawyer and filing fees.

Any laywers in MO want a piece of this? Watch your money ultralight fliers! This man WILL rip you off. I am proof of that. Have fun, and fly safely!!!
