Billed monthly for service I cancelled before hookup

Called Verizon to have service, change mind two weeks before planned hook up date, call & cancel, they said ok, two wks later their guy shows up to hook me up, I told him that I cancel it, he said ok & left, he didn't do nothing. A month later I get a bill for 60 dollars, I called Verizon she got very nasty with me & told me I had to pay it, noway I'm I paying for something I didn't get, & today I get another bill, for another month in the amount of 90 dollars, I'm sorry but I'm not paying it
