"High Quality" consignment store just a BIG rip-off

They believe they are upscale and prestigous consignment operation. You even have to have an appointment to consign for the first time and bring in no less than $1,000 retail in clothing. Fine, I go in with 6 garbage bags full of HIGH QUALITY, DESIGNER BRAND NAME clothing. Total retail in the $3,000-$4,000 range. It was all in such good condition the lady took EVERY ITEM I BROUGHT IN but 2. The items she didn't take she asked me to bring back for the summer collection. There were so many items she told me it would take quite awhile for herself and the "consigner" to go through it all and determine prices, so I should probably come back. Since everything about them appears on the up and up I didn't rush back. Why can't you trust a HIGH QUALITY CONSIGNMENT SHOP IN WHITE ROCK BC with your stuff? Let me tell you why. When it was time to receive payment I got 2 cheques and a list of all the items sold and what they sold for.

First problem - over half of my original drop off stuff is missing off the list!!!

SECOND PROBLEM - I GET A GRAND STINKING TOTAL OF $347.00 FOR ALL MY ITEMS. That's LESS than 10% of what I brought in - more like 5% not including the stuff that's gone missing! The consignment contract is for 40% of EVERYTHING.

THIRD PROBLEM - Try finding someone who will help you resolve a problem. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Nobody is "in charge" of the business. The owner is some absentee person who doesn't even live in Canada. The staff area all just staff and don't have a clue what to do or who to recommend that I call. I spoke to someone who called themself a manager of the store on Granville, but then never heard back. I called 4 times, went into the store once and got 1 return call from a girl who was going to follow-up with someone else. No response.

This business is a complete and utter joke, nobody knows what happened to my stuff and there doesn't seem to be anyone who cares to follow-up.

To top it off they sold (according to the print out) a harve benard brand new (never once worn) blazer jacket for $8.99...!!! Are they freakin kidding me???

I could have gotten more in a garage sale!

This place is a joke. Don't go for the interview, don't waste your time. Have a yard sale - you'll do much better!!!
