I was job searching on Monster and as a PR/Marketing major I had been tirelessly applying without success until I found a job opp. "Marketing Account Manager" it was an entry level position. I went to the company's Web site and just glancing through it seemed legitimate enough, so I apply. This was at about 8:45 A.M. And at 3:30 P.M. I get a call from the "HR manger" setting up an interview with me. Basically I am ecstatic that I may finally have a legitimate job opp. I drive to there office, nice building, nice area, but when I get up to the suite that's when it all starts looking funny. I greet the receptionist, who sounds identical to the "HR manager" and I fill out a questionaire. The phone rings and the receptionist/secretary and now, "Hi this is xxx HR manager." I start thinking, "Great..., " and there are now about 6 others in the little lobby undoubtedly interviewing for the same position or as I later find out the same position but six different titles. So I finally start the interview and they ask for my resume but hardly pay any attention to it and don't ask any specific questions about it... The lady just keeps asking me vague/general questions about where i want to be in the future. When all is said and done the interview took about 11 minutes and I am sent on my way. I am actually a little pissed that I drove all that way, took the entire afternoon off and the interview took 11 minutes. So I start searching and scrutinizing this company. I find on their Web site they are national leaders in their industry with 200 offices nation-wide, yet there is no way to find anything about any other office even searching through google. There is one phone number, one e-mail address and 0 names to contact in an office that staffs over 35 employees? Things started feeling really wrong at this point, and it gets worse. They call me back that evening and want to schedule a second interview, I go ahead and schedule one but really have no intention of going. After another day of searching on the internet I read on a forum of another two people who had identical experiences as me yet they continued to the second interview and they had to job shadow someone in the desired position and it turns out as a Marketing account manager you are really a door-to-door business-to-business salesman. This company is intentionally decieving potential employees by giving them no information and naming the same position 6 different way on job search boards. STAY AWAY FROM CUMBERLAND ENTERPRISES, INC.!!!
