Bad customer service

I purchased my Insignia 50" Plasma 720P from Best Buy on 11-20-07, for $1150. On 12-10-08, the screen went black. I called Insignia and found out that I was a little over 2 weeks out of their warranty coverage. I asked them to consider the amount of money that I spent on this TV, and the money I would have to spend to fix it (about $500), and asked them to supply me the part, or take my TV in exchange for a refurbished TV. The operator told me that she did not have the authority to make that decision, but would get me an answer.

I never received a call back, and I have called nearly 20 times, only to be put on hold for up to a half an hour at a time, and never talked to. I have also emailed multiple times, and I have received ticket numbers, but never a response to my question.

I have also contacted Best Buy. They told me that the decision is up to Insignia. Best Buy did offer me a gift card for my troubles, and they also contacted Insignia for me, to inquire. I still have not heard back from Insignia, as of 2-6-09. All I want is an answer, and hopefully Insignia will support me in some way.
