Unauthorized $9.95 Charge

A few years ago I got my 86 year old mother a cell phone - just in case. She doesn't even use it so the bill is always around $25.00/mo. But, last month, there was a $9.95 charge from CYLON, LLC and charges for a few text messages. I tried to find out about this company and what the charge was for, but was unsuccessful. So, contacted my service provider and was advised that "someone had to have ordered some service from CYLON and did it from the phone" Well, my mother can't even turn the phone on without the instruction book and she neither ordered any service nor made or received any text messages (the phone is off and in a drawer) so I complained and finally got the charges reversed and all future texts and additional services blocked.

This was a ripoff - plain and simple. Hope this helps others and hope some government entity can put a stop to it.
