Free trial - do not answer phone to cancel before trial period expires

My wife signed up for a free 30-day trial, including providing a credit card for monthly fees if she wanted to continue the services after the trial period. She got no job leads and called to cancel before the free trial expired. She could not get through. She tried 4-5 times on different days with no success. She eventually forgot to try again and again.

For five months since, she has received no job leads from this company, nor any other communication. So, she had no reminder to call again to try to cancel. If she had called, it probably would not have gone through again.

Called company to explain this and request a refund. They refused. Even refused to cancel a pending charge that had not yet cleared. Got defensive and claimed that someone answers the phone every time during their business hours. Not TRUE.

Typical get you in and refuse to let go scam.
