Misinformation and disinterested Customer Service

I recently ordered a dress from this company online (they only have one showroom in Missouri) and I paid a mint for it. There were certain guidelines in order to receive a dress in the correct size.

I will admit that their website does mention possibly needing alterations but that is not my problem. I paid over $200 for a maternity skirt and top. Using their sizing guidelines, I bought the size that would fit me when I was 27 weeks pregnant.

I received my dress and the top was atrociously large (I was falling out of it) and the skirt was only staying on because of the maternity panel clinging to my stomach.

I am a larger girl and I knew that my figure would change the further along I got. I was in between two sizes that when I am not pregnant, I was struggling to fit into. I thought it would be smarter to buy at least one size larger (you can take it in, but you can't take it out). But according to their sizing guidelines, I actually bought a size smaller for the skirt.

When I received my dress, I was excited. I tried it on for my husband and I burst into tears. NOWHERE on my body did my dress fit. It even dug into my arms near the armpits. It was so large, it looked as if my dress was supposed to be an off the shoulder (it wasn't). The skirt was hanging so low that if I bent over, everyone would know what color underwear I was wearing.

When I called the company, they did not have a "complaints" department. Understand, it is very clearly stated that the dress is "made for you" and that there are NO exchanges or returns. I was simply calling to ask them why the size chart said one thing and the dress was another thing. She argued with me about sizing chart, insisting that I knew that I was going to have to need alterations. I was not prepared to pay the same amount in alterations as I did my dress.

I admitted that I had bought a size larger (your body changes with pregnancy and she replied that I shouldn't have done that, my body wasn't going to change that much). So I dropped the issue of the top and mentioned that if I had gone by their sizing chart for my skirt, I would have gotten a skirt that was 2 sizes too large. When faced with that, she sputtered that their website mentions alterations will be needed and that they go by their sizing chart and that there are no exchanges and I was aware of that.

I am writing this because there is nowhere on their website to make comments. And the service I received on the phone was a total brushoff. Having to buy two separate pieces was expensive and the result made me cry. There are not many places that sell maternity plus sizes and having found this website, I was excited. But now, I am only upset and disappointed in the results.

I would not recommend using this website unless you are able to go to their showroom in Missouri. If this is the only website that will help you get a plus size formal, then be sure to be professionally measured and be very wary. I was not pleased and I cannot believe that I am the only one to feel this way. I will not ever use this company again.
